Los Angeles to Vancouver

Unfortunatly, I haven't blogged in a while since I've been quite busy with school and life.
Just this past weekend, I actually went to Los Angeles but I'll write about that later.
Mmm... pretty much my life is just going to school and when I am free, I go hangout with friends.
A couple weeks ago, I went over to Kaworu's for her birthday party and watched the boys play Catherine~

 

I also went to some wedding trade show too~
big thanks to Jun from Kunio Photography for helping me out with that!

So about last week, I fly down to Los Angeles for my cousin's wedding reception.

Unfortunatly, I only got to go for 2.5 days so I tried to make the best out of every moment!

I was able to see my lovely friends so I'm happy about that!
Now onto the pictures~

Arriving at Los Angeles, my father and I went to go pick up the rental car.

So we waited for the shuttle to come by so that we can be driven there (as it's kinda far away).

After we picked up the car, my dad dropped me off at the LACMA so that I could go and see the Tim Burton exhibit.

I couldn't take any pictures of exhibit pieces so here's the beginning and end of it :D

 

The exhibit was alright.

I guess I wasn't as crazy about his art as I thought.

I was able to still draw out some sketches in my Fashionary though~ hoping to use it in future designs.

Possibly?

I really liked the way his style looked on the fabric manipulations though. It was cool!

By the time I look at the whole exhibit, it started to rain...

it rained in the weirdest way too.

It felt like someone was taking a gardening hose and just decided to put it on heavy watering cause the water was chunky?

It wasn't like a drizzle. They were fat water drops!

Since we were outside at this time, we took cover and chatted about where to go next.

I had to take a picture with the infamous lamp posts from LACMA though.

I would love to see this in person!

It's my dream photoshoot location for a Gundam-00 photoshoot x3

I don't know why... but I think a Setsuna x Marina one would look so romantic!

(Yes, that is my favourite pairing in 00)

After LACMA, I got to check out the "new" Vivienne Westwood store on Melrose.

It was alright? My first time walking into one!

...I touched some of the evening dresses.

Not sure if they were from the haute couture stuff but it seemed like it.

Yep.

Pretty satisfied with that. HAHAHA!!

Visited Chrome Hearts... then we went to eat ramen in Torrance.

Sang karaoke in the kotatsu room at Max! hehehe~

Met up with Miju, Steph and Monkey for some late night dinner in Korea Town.

I got a hazelnut latte and a seafood linguine.

It was delicious!

 

This is what I got at Marukai 8D

Melliesh lip gloss, a summer edition of the Hadanomy mist and Diamond Lash.

Errr... got dropped off back at home and slept like the dead!

Woke up in the morning and went for brunch with family.

We ate in Pasadena. I actually wanted to try the Melting Pot but they didn't open till 5PM.

What the heck? >__>"

So we just went to whatever was next to it.

 

It was a beautiful sunny day, unlike Vancouver where I was sure it was raining.

I got to walk around Old Town Pasadena for a bit too :D

It was actually the day of the wedding reception so it was rather hectic.

I got back to the hotel to change and redo makeup.

Dressed up my pops! It was fun :D

Daiji and Kohei came to pick me up from the restauraunt and we went to go meet Miju at Round One.

Unfortunatly he couldn't go in so we ended up going to Guppy's nearby.

We wanted to go take purikura :< Next time I guess!

For the last day, I drove to Santa Monica and pretty much that was it.

Went to LAX after that to fly home that evening.

I was sad that my weekend came to an end so quickly!

I had so much fun seeing everyone~

I can't wait to go back in like... 2.5 months!

I just have to endure the rest of this school semester first. >A<

Stuff I bought from the Sanrio store 8D

As for today, I got to meet up with David.

I tried curling my hair with the awesome curler Miju got me.

Yeah... I totally burned my palm~ hehehe

Oh well. It's fine now!

Pretty happy with the results but I think if I had to do that everyday in the morning, I wouldn't.

Since I'm slow, it's rather time consuming as I have to individually curl each portion by hand.

I'll post a picture/review or something of the curler later.

Before meeting up with David, I picked up my order from Karen's house.

I actually forgot I was driving to her house and ended up going to the mall...

but then I backtracked. Yep.

It was annoying driving back to the mall though.

I was practically road raging because people are stupid!

Or just people with too much attitude.

Anyways! I ranted enough about it to David so the world doesn't need to know XD

I took purikura with David and then we went to go eat a late lunch nearby the mall.

Drove him back to his car after that and lingered around the mall some more~

I totally ended up buying 2 faux fur coats... and a sweater.

I was thinking I wouldn't buy anything too! Oh well D:

It's nice!

I wanted to eat dinner at this point but didn't wanna eat alone so Elle invited me to go eat with her and her friend.

I met up with Elle only to drop off a present I picked up in LA at first but she thought it'd be fine :3

Happy she invited me.

I didn't grab dinner though-- I ended up getting bubble tea and a sweet crepe.

Speaking of which-- where did I put the bubble tea? LOL

I'm gonna have to go check after this post ~__~"

After that, we parted ways and I went home.

Was getting tired at this point.

Uhh... I didn't take a picture of the Coastal Scents order that David brought up for me.

I will do that after I resolve a certain issue.

I think the dresses are cute! I'm really happy with them~

I'll probably order more sometime in the future.

The quality isn't too bad.

I guess cotton is cotton but it's not a super thin cotton which is good!

For the white dress, it feels more like layers of voile than a cotton broadcloth.

So it's great~ I think voile is better quality than broadcloth... ^^"

Back to fashion school!

Unfortunatly, my summer has come to an end and school activities started again for me last week~

This semester, my courses aren't very heavy and it seems that I am doing well so far.

Since I have a bit of free time, I shop a lot too orz

So the cake above was from a couple weeks ago for Rusty's(from Gundam Seed) birthday party xD

I think the Sunday of that same week, Bam and I went to the nightmarket to watch Jin's band show.

But like I said, I've been shopping even after class xD"

I got these on the first day of school I think after class?

Bought a long dress and faux fur scarf from H&M and a pair of boots for Fall/Winter.

Since I also took off my Accounting class on Wednesdays, I went to the hair salon to get a new colour.

My roots were really showing since I didn't dye my hair for... 5 months? ^^"

It was pretty bad but not too obvious at the same time because it's a medium golden brown.

So this is my new hair colour now~ really dry though U___U

Got gelato afterwards and treated my mother too n___n

It was super hot that day so it was awesome<3

Then the Friday I had dinner with Elle at The Noodle Box.

It was really yummy and I think I'll try to go there in the future again~

Did some shopping before I met up with Elle at Lush too xD

Got a new concealer, some bath bombs and a face mask~

We went to watch the sunset in the beach afterwards while having frozen yogurt.

It was really cold and I'm pretty sure I caught a cold/flu because of that XD"

Suffering from that pretty badly now... *clears nose*

Lastly, we finally reached today-- zooming through my blog since I don't really feel like going into details.

I got my Beauties Factory 120 eyeshadow palette order in my mailbox.

Bought another 2 palettes from Coastal Scents today too along with a contouring set and a brush case.

I actually find the pigmentation on the Beauties Factory palette to be rather lacking in colour?

There's a lot of it but without using an eyeshadow primer-- thus far, it isn't very pigmented.

I'll try it again in a couple days to see whether it works better with a primer.

Regardless, I decided to purchase the original 88 Coastal Scents eyeshadow palette AND the ultra shimmer palette~

I sent it to my friend in the states so I won't be finding out how that goes until early October unfortunatly XD"

I also picked up 2 NYX jumbo eye pencils and a Maybelline Eye Studio shadow.

I actually wanted to say I really like their new palette because it's kind of like a KATE dupe.

I already used the Pink Punch for the past couple weeks now but just picked up the Caffeine Rush colour today.

Shall try it in the morning but I like neutral tones for everyday life so it works well n__n

The fancy rolliing suit case is for school(for pattern making primarily)~

Lots of shopping this week orz

Can't wait for my Coastal Scents order xD

Summer Festival

This past Saturday was the Summer Festival presented by ARC.

The event started at 2pm but I didn't get around until a little after 4pm, no surprise there.

I was planning to wear Lion Sheryl because I figured July should be really hot!

I was so wrong...

In the end, when I woke up-- it was cold and raining outside.

So I decided to wear something layered or fully covered.

I was thinking of wearing Wako but in the end, I thought I'd try wearing my Kyoko cosplay from last year's AX that I never wore out.

I did wear my Wako wig for it though... it was a bit too yellow in my opinion but it still worked.

It was so embarassing so to wear such a flashy costume so I tried my best to make it as cool as possible.

...I figured if I rolled up the sleeves I'd look cooler, hahaha~ orz

It was alright. I had to borrow my mother's sneakers since I don't own a pair of white sneakers.

I was happy to be able to see all my friends again, was nice since it had been a while.

We didn't really do much and honestly, the event itself was rather boring >A<

The only good part about it was Rai's performance which was awesome!

She has a really beautiful voice ;A;

...it was my first time seeing her perform actually~ hehe

Really envious =3= My voice is nasally-sounding and weird XD"

 

Heather and her friend, Colleen killed some time by drawing pictures as Ashirogi Muto.

In the end, I wasn't able to get my drawing done until dinner time =u="

BUT I WAS THE LAST PERSON AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ;A;

Soon after Rai's performance, we all decided to head over to Red Robin's nearby for dinner.

It was nice on my part meeting new people who also love cosplay!

We had seriously interesting/serious conversations but I love that aspect.

While waiting for our food, I got my picture drawn from all the way across the table by Colleen and Heather!

Anyways, after dinner was time to go home!

Since we were basically borderline of 2 cities I'm extremely unfamiliar with, I got a bit lost trying to drive home. T__T"

I didn't have my GPS with me so I counted on my iPhone's map... I didn't know which direction I head to head over to until I started moving around.

So many U-turns, it sucked big time D= I hate driving alone too!

I feel like every time I go out with my cosplay friends, they challenge me to drive to new places all the time cause I'm always getting lost xDDD

Anyways, it's all good!

I made it back home eventually after heading through North, West, East and South-- haha

Can't wait for more adventures this Saturday at Cos & Effect~

Oh yeah-- if you wonder what I did after Saturday, nothing really. Life?

Work on Sunday and today was chill day!

I did a bit of shopping and got my package from when I ordered it in mid-June *__*

I was so worried it was lost in the mail but luckily, it was just delayed because of the postal strike that happened recently.

What did I get? Just eyelashes and eyedrops.

Let me say one thing.

The Rohto Lychee eye drop for contacts is absolutely amazinggggg!

If you haven't tried japanese eyedrops before, it's worth giving it a shot.

They're totally different from American eye drops you find at your local drugstore.

But I guess Rohto also sells an American version of their eyedrops.

The lychee one is different though.

Hard to explain but I can actually feel a lychee scent to the eyedrops.

I don't know how and I probably sound really stupid now but it's nice and cooling!

I usually use it if my eyes feel irritated with the contacts in...

Yeah, give it a try if you ever have the chance! =)

Trip to Coldstone's

So yesterday, I decided randomly that I had a minor craving for Coldstone's and I had heard from a friend that there was recently one that opened up at Metrotown in Burnaby.

Along driving there, I forgot where I was going cause I ended up using the direction I would normally drive through in order to get to Richmond... then I quickly realized I was wrong so I fixed that by going back onto the highway =_=" After finally getting there, I got my Coldstone's fix. I realized they also sell take-out size Oreo Overload so that I could eat it at home *___* I guess the texture just wouldn't be there though? I'll buy it next time if I go home right afterwards.

As I was about to meet up with Steven at the mall cause I was tweeting about being "oreo overloaded", literally(lol), Ann found me at the mall and invited me to join her group to go for dinner and karaoke after so I told them I'd join them afterwards. We ended up walking around and just chatting. It was nice since I haven't seen him for a while and we ended up looking at dogs in the pet store. They were really cute, I just wish I could take them all home... but I'm anti-pet shop purchasing >_>" After that, it was about time we parted~

So I did some actual shopping without trying clothes on of course. So I have to return some stuff I bought xD" Was trying to kill time waiting for Bam to arrive so I could drive him together to go eat dinner but by the time he arrived, Annie, Jing and John were finished with eating apparently. So Bam and I ended up joining Sonia, Evan, Rico, Celia, Karen and Jing for bubble tea nearby instead. We went to a bubble tea restauraunt called "The One". They sold royal milk tea bubble tea which was an extremely rare find! I felt lucky but sadly, it wasn't as good as the ones they sell in California.

After dinner, John and Annie joined us (since they decided to go karaoke nearby as they were full already) and we headed over to Sonia's house to kill time since the night was still young. We played my favourite game, "You're It" or something like that (that is extreme sarcasm BTW... I hate that game with a passion because I never win 8D) Played with Toro, Sonia's cat for a while<3 Then headed home when everyone decided it was about time.

Bam and I were gonna play some Kingdom Hearts when I got home but we realized it was already 11:40PM so I ended up dropping him off home instead. Next time! >,<
